Seminar Series on "Fundamentals of Islam"TIME: The module on Nabuwwat (Prophethood) started in January 2006. If you missed the modules on Tauheed and Adl, please visit the Archives section to listen to recorded lectures. Please enroll to attend. Enroll me. VENUE: Online at Paltalk Room SPEAKER: The speaker Mr. Abbas Ayleya, is the resident Aalim of Seattle, Washington, USA. He has been serving the community of Seattle for 6 years. His formal theological training spans over a decade. OBJECTIVE: A sound understanding of the fundamentals of religion (Usool-Ud-deen) is necessary for both the preservation of pure Islam and the spiritual growth of Muslims. Unfortunately, however, many modern day Muslims do not get an opportunity to receive instruction, esp. dialogue-based, in these "fundamentals." The objective of this series of lectures (eight on each usool) is to equip such an audience precisely this understanding of Usool-Ud-deen, properly supported by intellectual rigour and narrative evidences. An acquisition of this understanding is imperative for the parents of young children who are required to pass their religion (deen) unadulterated to the next generations. It is against this backdrop and in recognition of the fact that there are currently no such instruction facilities for the dispersed Muslims of the world, esp. those living in the west, that this online participatory lecture series is being launched. A rudimentary knowledge of the beliefs will be expected of the audience, although, strictly speaking, it will not be a requirement. The medium of instruction for these introductory lectures will be English. In all, there will be a series of eight forty minute lectures followed by a thirty minute Question and Answer session on each of the following subtopics:
Enrollment is mandatory. SUGGESTED TEXTS:
